Service Description

This meeting takes place over Zoom and includes reviewing 1 document. During this meeting, I will tailor and update your resume, cover letter, or other document collaboratively with you, make the edits for you during the time of our call, and send you an email afterward with additional feedback or edit recommendations you can continue to implement on your own. Are you tired of not hearing back when you submit job applications? Are you applying to graduate school and want to stand out? Email me your resume, cover letter, or personal statement and let's make sure you shine so you can actually get a response and a chance to interview! To book this session please send an email to alaina@askalaina.com with your request & material as a Word Doc., plus the job or program description if you are applying for a specific opportunity. We will schedule a meeting to speak about your material & goals, while looking at your document together. We will meet for 60 minutes over Zoom or phone to speak about your transferable skills, why you want the job(s) you are looking for, and go over formatting changes to your document together. I will seek to understand your job search goals & skills from your past experiences, and will run any changes I plan to make by you for approval during this time. We will also review best practices for networking and other recommendations to ensure you have the best chances of being offered an interview, beyond just your resume. This meeting will ensure that your document is tailored & Applicant Tracking System-friendly, so it shines for the job(s) you are seeking and makes it through the internal screening system to be read by a human. You will also leave this meeting with the skills yourself, so you know how to do it all on the future on your own should you choose to! After our meeting, I will then email you back your 1 document with feedback by or before the deadline stated during our meeting. If you are tired of spending tons of time and energy writing your materials and never hearing back or it leading anywhere, we will make sure your materials are tailored, tell your story, and sell your skills, so that you can actually get a response from someone and not just get ruled out by the Applicant Tracking System, or beaten out by the competition!

Cancellation Policy

Please email alaina@askalaina.com to reschedule or cancel your appointment within 24 hours for a full refund. No-shows without a reschedule or cancellation request within 24 hours will be considered for refunds on a case-by-case basis.
